We will work closely with Universities and Student Accommodations to maintain their grounds. Universities will pride themselves on their appearance to project a positive image to any potential students but to also have the best working environments for their current students.
Student accommodation will always include communal areas within its grounds. Although not directly owned by universities, they still represent the image portrayed by them. These will need to be kept to a high standard to give all students a pleasant environment to work in.
We will always make sure when using loud equipment in any working area that we respect the privacy of the students. There is never an ideal time to make noise but we will endeavour to work closely with each establishment to come to an agreeable working schedule.
2. Private Hospitals/Hospices
Hospices and Private Hospitals will want a calm and exclusive setting for their patients to visit. For Patients staying in a hospice, they will want grounds in which they can enjoy and spend time in. Like with many of our clients, we have to respect the environments we work in and we can produce a working schedule with our employees to achieve this.
Many chain hotels will have grounds consisting of Car Parking areas and hedged borders. We will keep all parking areas free of leaves and weeds and devise a cutting plan for all types of hedges.
4. Private Housing Estates/Flat Complexes
We have a number of contracts in place for this type of site through Property Management companies. All working schedules are tailor made for any site we take on. One site may contain a host of grassed areas, beds and shrubs. Others may be far more basic with no Lawns, minimal hedges and more space for car parking. All of these scenarios require specific plans to maintain them effectively.
We will take on Council owned spaces and maintain them throughout the year. These spaces typically come in the shape of grassed verges, hedges and wooded areas on the sides of roads. We also look after the grounds around council owned complexes, recreational areas such as parks with football pitches and village gardens and greens.
6. Care Homes
A huge emphasis is often placed on the gardens of Care Homes. Many elderly people will enjoy the chance to sit in beautifully kept grounds. A care homes image will be dictated largely by the appearance of its communal areas and a great deal of time and care will be taken to select the right perennials and shrubs to be planted by the landscapers. These will all need close attention thereafter in order to grow to their potential.
7. Retail Parks, Shopping centres
Retail Parks and Shopping Centres will have large, open Car Parking areas that will need to be looked after. Depending on the layout, a typical area will include lines of shrubs and borders. These are often very low maintenance and will only require four visits a year.
8. Facilities Management
Many Business Premises are emphasising the need to create a professional image through their buildings and grounds. More and more are outsourcing contracts for their grounds to ensure a high level of expertise is managing the ongoing maintenance. 9. Property Management
We work closely with several Property Management companies on sites in London and the Home Counties. They will contact us with a new development which we will take on from the very beginning or we will take over sites that are in need of improving. Below are just some of our sites that we currently attend.
Clunbury Court, Berkhamsted
Trinity Estates Management Company are based in Hemel Hempstead. One particular Complex we attend under Trinity is in Berkhamsted. This is a bespoke development in a desirable location just off of the main high street. It includes 40 Apartments with a large courtyard area in the centre which is maintained by us on a fortnightly basis. A large oval of Yew hedging surrounds a water feature that runs 40 metres in length, culminating with a water fountain at one end. This area is covered with stones which require raking over to prevent any weeds from anchoring below.
Luton Park View, Luton
This site is managed by Warwick Estates. It consists of houses and 3 separate blocks of flats with communal gardens, car parking areas, bin stores and a large Nature reserve all under our watch. We have recently taken on a large project within the nature reserve in which we are installing large bedded areas to be seeded by Wildflower which will flourish in the spring of next year. The site Directors approached us with an idea to further improve the look of the nature reserve and this is just one step we are taking to fulfil that request. Additional Bulbs have also been planted in the open area of the reserve ready for the spring.
Castle Gate, Chorleywood
We have recently started working with John Roberts Estate Agents on a completed project in Chorleywood. With the development and its grounds just being finished, we have the opportunity to maintain the communal gardens from the very beginning. This gives us the chance to nurture the grounds from scratch which will ensure that all plants and shrubs will flourish under our watch. We have also agreed with the Directors to install a compost area which we will fill with grass cuttings and leaves. Many people see a compost area as an undesirable ‘Rubbish Dump’, however all cuttings that are composted will be re-used to feed the soil in the many beds on the site. This not only improves the quality of the soil but also enables all plants to achieve maximum quality of growth and colour.
